Eastern Fluid Power Inc., has extensive knowledge and expertise working with a wide variety of manufacturing machines. In today's competitive market we must continually assess our processes to improve lead times and increase throughput. It is critical that our investment in equipment is maximized. If your assessment indicates the need to improve productivity and/or reliability, you have several choices.
- REPAIR
- PURCHASE NEW
- REBUILD
- RETROFIT
- REMANUFACTURE
REPAIR
Our trained service technicians can repair your equipment, using quality brand named components, on your premises or ours. Fast and competitive, with 24 hour service, this is an effective solution for short term considerations.
PURCHASE NEW
Unless you require major re tooling, consider the benefits of Repair, Rebuild, Retrofit or Remanufacturing, over the high cost of new unproven equipment.
REBUILD
This is often the best and most economic way to maximize the performance capacity of relatively recent machines, with adequate CNC or PLC controls.
A rebuild includes the complete restoration of a machine to its original mechanical specifics. The mechanical components of the machine are cleaned, inspected and rebuilt, using either new or re machined parts. The Standard Procedures Include:
- The machine is completely dismantled
- The machine is thoroughly cleaned and degreased
- The machine is thoroughly inspected and an Inspection Report and recommendations are submitted to the customer
- All worn or damaged parts are replaced
- Bearing ways are either hand-scraped or replaced
- All bearing and seals are replaced
- Hydraulic and lube systems are rebuilt, including new valves & hoses
- Machine is reassembled to the original tolerance specifications
- The machine is tested and demonstrated
- The machine is repainted, in your colours
- Machine is recommissioned, on your premises
Typically a rebuild will save you 60 to 70%, of the price of a new machine.
RETROFIT
A retrofit is an economical solution for machines that are mechanically sound, but have outdated or defective CNC or PLC Controls.A retrofit includes replacing CNC or PLC controls, and all other electrical components, including wiring.Standard Procedures include:
- Consultation and assessment of the Control requirements and capacities
- Selection of appropriate controls
- Programming
- Replacement of all electrical components (including wiring)
- Machine is tested and demonstrated
- Machine is repainted, in your colours
- Machine is recommissioned, on your premises
Typically a retrofit will save you 65 to 75%, of the cost of a new machine.
REMANUFACTURE
A remanufacture includes all the characteristics of a rebuild and a retrofit, plus a redesign of the machine to enhance its capabilities and improve productivity. There are many compelling reasons to consider remanufacturing over purchasing a new machine. Older heavy cast iron machines provide a dampening effect while machining, which provides better finishes, that may allow metal to be removed at a higher rate. Older machines have become stress relieved through aging and when rebuilt tend to be more stable, requiring less frequent geometric alignment to produce quality parts. The Standard Procedures include:
- All stages detailed under Rebuild – Mechanical
- And all stages detailed under Retrofit – Controls and Electrical
This translates to your machines being restored to an as-new condition, bringing the alignments and accuracies to equal or better than the specifications of the original production model. In many cases, your machine is remanufactured to be more capable and reliable than a new production line version.Typically a remanufactured machine will save you 50%, of the price of a new machine.
